This area follows Highway 99 as it travels north beyond the Squamish Valley through Whistler and Pemberton to Lillooett Lake.

Experience a variety of hiking terrain from high alpine climbs to lakeside trails and lush coastal forests in the heart of the valley. This area is popular all year round and serves casual hikers, trail runners, snowshoers and cross-country skiiers.

Interesting Facts 
  • Now known as a world-class mountain resort, Whistler has humble beginnings as a Summit Lake, BC before gaining popularity as a skiing destination in the 1960's and 70's.

  • The region originally developed along the Pemberton Trail or Pemberton Portage Road as a key route for settlers during the Gold Rush era.

  • Whistler is home to five lakes, Nita, Lost, Alpha, Alta and Green Lake
